At Cangas Aventura, we offer up to 3 pickup points along the river so you can customize your adventure according to your pace and needs. We’ll take care of bringing you back to our facilities, where you can relax, shower, and change clothes. You decide how to experience this adventure!

1. Departure from Arriondas

Start your adventure at our facilities in Arriondas, right on the riverbank! Here you can park your car, change clothes, store your belongings, and collect the necessary equipment for the activity. We also have a picnic area and food truck so you can fuel up before the trip or recover afterward.

2. La Raíz

Just 1 kilometer from the start, you’ll encounter your first rapid, La Raíz! An easy rapid that splits into two channels. To navigate it, you’ll need to approach it from the right side. Welcome to your water baptism in the Sella River Descent!

3. La Remolina

Here comes the second rapid! Although ‘La Remolina’ isn’t complicated to navigate, its powerful jet of water will make your canoe pick up speed. And as calm always follows the storm, at the end of the rapid, you’ll find a calm water pool perfect for your first stop and to enjoy the incredible scenery.

Along the route between this point and the next, you’ll find the famous Sella River Descent beach bars. Don’t hesitate to stop and enjoy their atmosphere!

4. Pozo del Arco

In summer, the calm waters of Pozo del Arco are one of the prime canoe stopping points. Here, a river beach forms, ideal for resting and enjoying the surroundings. Take a break and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Sella!

5. El Picu la Vieya

The El Picu la Vieya rapid, near the peak of the same name, offers an impressive landscape on the right bank of the river. The Sella narrows considerably at this point and, although it’s not a particularly difficult stretch, you shouldn’t get distracted.

6. Toraño - 1st Pickup Point

You’ve reached Toraño! This is the first point where you can end the adventure if needed. Here, you can also rest at our facilities and decide whether you want to continue your adventure or end it at this 1st pickup point.

The only changing rooms and services halfway through the route!

In Toraño, located halfway through the descent route, you will have access to our bathrooms and changing rooms, exclusive for customers and perfect for a technical stop.

Additionally, they are located right next to the beach bar in Toraño. Take the opportunity to rest, take a dip, and recharge your energy. The Sella Descent is much easier with Cangas Aventura!

7. Rabión del Diablu

Are you ready for the most spectacular rapids of the Sella Descent? Impetuous currents and large rocks will splash your path in the area known as Rabión del Diablu, creating an impressive scenario. But you shouldn’t worry! Despite its intimidating appearance, this section is not dangerous.

8. La Requexada

This is the longest straight stretch of the route! La Requexada is a huge straight water course that every year is a mandatory meeting point for anyone who wants to get a good view of the International Sella Descent.

9. Llordón - 2nd Pick-up Point

Attention! Llordón is the second pick-up point, at km 13, before reaching the Uña Bridge. Look out for the Cangas Aventura signs if you want to stop here. Our monitors will take you back so you can change and shower.

10. Old Santianes Dam

Keep going, you’re almost there! In this section, you’ll find another rapid, passing through a corridor flanked by rocks. This exciting part of the descent is worth remembering and, although impressive, it’s not dangerous.

11. Llovio - End of the Route

Congratulations, you’ve reached the end of the Sella Descent route! Under the bridge, half a kilometer before reaching the village of Llovio, our monitors will be waiting for you at the pick-up point. Congratulations on completing the adventure!
